Variable Acoustic Room System

VN presents the first Variable Acoustic Room modular System. VN211 adapts to all requirements in a simple way.

The concept is:

-A set of rotary, folding or sliding screens, with absorbing, reflecting or diffusing characteristic varies the room acoustic.

-A central control unit drives each screen and all as a group.

-Up to 64 screens in the system.

-Each screen has 36 different positions (each step increment 10 degrees in a rotary screen or 23mm in a sliding or folding screen).

-64 position memories of up to 64 screens.

-You can show in the display the RT60 reverberation time with a set of room measurements. (RT60= reverberation time @ -60db)

-The screens number is function of room dimension, in particular volume, room shape and surface characteristics among other variables.

-Each screen has a Motor-Encoder-Microprocessor unit (see block diagram) that permits 36 different screen positions with high precision.

-The screens communicates with the central control unit with a three wire, high speed, serial asynchronous communication.

-The routines inside the screen motor unit microprocessor perform the tasks ordered by the central control unit. The distributed intelligence between the units and the central control unit is the core of the modular system.

In order to expand the system just connect new screens to the system, the central control unit will detect it and will include it in a "plug and play" way.

The VN211 is menu driven as the next pictures shows.

	Main window with four options: memo: select a particular position memory. move: moves the screen individualy. util: a set of utilities. zero: all screens parallel to wall.
	memo window Select a position memory with the +/- keys. The RT60 measured is displayed on screen in milliseconds (ms). The GO key enter the move order to the selected position memory. home: back to Main window.
	move window Select a screen with the +/- keys Turn or displace left/right the screen with the left/right keys. home: back to Main window.
	util window save: save the actual screens position in memory. comp: compare two screens position stored in memory. test: perform a complete system test. reset: reset the system and detect new screens.
	save window Save the actual screens position in any of the 64 available position memory . With the +/- key you select the memory #, the yes key confirm and save. home: back to Main window.
	comp window With this function you select two different memory position to compare, with the +/- keys select the memory, with the swap key you change between the two memories. home: back to Main window.
